Asus did have the Rapid Start software for 8.1 on their website. I have researched this again and multiple sources confirm HM76 does NOT support Intel Smart Response Technology, I think I am more relieved than anything else by this. Intel recommends making this partition the same size or moreas the amount of memory that is installed in your computer. MB is Asus P9X79 Pro. POST now shows the raid drives, I can enter the intel rom via ctrl+I and most importantly the RSTe conrroller GUI in win7 is working fine. I don't really see any SATA type drivers for Windows 8.

  • For me I have a 32 GB SSD and 8 GB of memory so I need 8 GB for my Rapid Start partition so just subtract that from the total size
  • The drivers for each one are different I think, make sure that you have the right ones.
